Selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Kinlaw's achievement is remarkable. Patrick Chung: From Jamaica to Three-Time Super Bowl Champion

Patrick Chung is a former football safety with an 11-season career. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1987. Chung's mom, Sophia George, was a popular Jamaican singer known for the Reggae hit 'Girlie, Girlie' in 1985. His dad has a mixed Chinese-Jamaican heritage. 

Patrick played in four Super Bowls and helped the New England Patriots win three times placing him in rich NFL history. The New England Patriots earned this title over 17 years and Patrick Chung is celebrated as one of the best safeties in this legendary team. 

Josue Matías: First Dominican NFL Player

Josue Matías made history as the first player from the Dominican Republic to join the NFL. He played as a guard for the Tennessee Titans and later for the Ottawa Redblacks. 

In fact, baseball reigns as the Dominican Republic's favorite sport, with the country boasting the highest number of professional players in Major League Baseball (MLB) worldwide. Despite this, and despite his father's encouragement to pursue baseball, Josue stayed true to his passion for football from a young age. 

Pierre Desir: Exceptional Cornerback and Proud Haitian

Pierre Desir is a football cornerback. He moved from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the United States at age four, seeking refuge from the unrest in his homeland. His father, Jean-Claude Désir, was a celebrated soccer midfielder who represented Haiti in the 1974 World Cup. 

Desir's path to success soared when he was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft. Since then, he has showcased his talent for several teams including the San Diego Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

Beyond the gridiron, Desir is committed to giving back to his community. When he generously donated 20,000 meals to struggling families in St. Louis during Covid, Desir was honoured as a 2020 Hope Giver by Samaritan's. As part of this initiative, Desir sponsored 450 pairs of shoes to be distributed throughout the Newark school system. This showcases his dedication to making a positive impact beyond the football field. 

The list of incredible NFL players from Haiti extends beyond Pierre Desir. Notable names include Gosder Cherilus, Max Jean-Gilles, Dadi Nicolas, and others. Among them, Henry McDonald stands out as a pioneer. He played for the Rochester Jeffersons from 1911 to 1917, even before the NFL was founded in 1920.
